Government is filled with familiar faces like family members, neighbors, and that person you bump into at your local store. Public servants care about their community and want to deliver impactful services, often under challenging circumstances. Despite these hurdles, our public servants find ways to deliver and their stories often go untold. Humans of Public Service shares their stories.

Following her passion

I have always had a passion for information and people, and public service has offered me a chance to marry the two – ensuring that the right information gets to the right people. A lack of knowledge, and information dissemination, among historically underserved communities, certainly contributes to their marginalization. It is my purpose to bridge the gap between people and information at every opportunity, so that they know what programs and benefits are available to them.

My work has meaning

I find so much intrinsic value in public service because my work has meaning. At the end of each day, I can see how my job positively affects people, not just in my local community but nationally too. Being a public servant feels like a privilege and it gives me the opportunity to have a job that is both worthwhile and impactful.

Him and His people

I believe we all serve somebody or something in life, good or bad, so I made a deliberate choice as to Who I would serve. Professionally, I chose to first serve in the military and then serve other Veterans and their family members through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
